How Poisson BTTS probability works
The calculator assumes independent Poisson goal distributions for each team. From home xG λ_home and away xG λ_away, it derives P(home scores), P(away scores), and P(BTTS Yes) = P(home ≥ 1) × P(away ≥ 1). Over/Under 2.5 uses the joint distribution of total goals. This is a standard statistical model used in football analytics — not a prediction of who will win.
